The World Series champ Nick Swisher and his wife, the actress JoAnna García Swisher, have opted to let go of their winning Tampa, FL, mansion. It’s on the market for $3 million.
The couple purchased the property for $2.96 million in 2010, the year they tied the knot.
Although the property hasn’t appreciated much over the past decade, the asking price looks as if it was pitched just right. The home is pending sale after less than two weeks on the market.
Built in 2009, the Mediterranean mansion offers five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and four half-bathrooms on 7,495 square feet.
The home is located in Avila, a guard-gated country club community. On just under an acre, it’s accessed by a circular paved driveway. Guests enter through arched double doors into a three-story rotunda, with a dramatic staircase of ornamental iron and marble, which leads to the main- level rooms, all overlooking the landscaped grounds.
The open interior features a living area, wet bar, dining room, a chef’s gourmet kitchen with an island and seating, and a breakfast counter.
Other highlights include a formal office, downstairs master suite, and a guest suite, as well as a powder room covered in dog-themed wallpaper.
A mahogany elevator leads to the upstairs area, with three more en suite bedrooms and balconies, as well as a Juliet balcony. This level also features a theater room with an entertainment bar and half-bathroom. A laundry room includes a dog wash.
The outdoor features include a free-form pool, a lanai with a summer kitchen, and lush landscaping. A four-car garage completes the property.
The couple seems to have a taste for real estate. They have also flipped two homes in Los Angeles, including a remodeled villa in Beverly Hills that they sold for $10.3 million last month, after buying it less than two years ago for just under $6 million, according to Variety.
They reportedly sold a century-old estate from L.A.’s Windsor Square neighborhood for $8.7 million in an off-market deal in 2019.
The All-Star also placed his Scottsdale, AZ, condo on the market in 2015, initially asking $2,049,500. But the slugger struggled to find a buyer for years, and finally let the place go in 2019 for $1.5 million.
Now 40, the outfielder played for the Oakland Athletics, Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves, and the New York Yankees, winning the 2009 World Series with the Yanks. After retiring in 2017, the 2010 All-Star became an analyst with Fox.
JoAnna is a longtime actress known for playing Vicki Appleby in “Freaks and Geeks,” Cheyenne Hart-Montgomery in the show “Reba,” and more recently for her star turns in ABC’s “The Astronaut Wives Club” and “Sweet Magnolias” on Netflix. She’s also appeared in movies such as “American Pie 2” and “The Internship.”
Dianne Martin with Century 21 Affiliated holds the listing.
