This shark is swimming in new waters. After profiting from the $55 million sale of his massive Jupiter Island compound, the golf legend Greg Norman has downsized to a $12.2 million property in Palm Beach Gardens, the Real Deal reported.
After he’d spent three decades at the Florida property, he and his wife, Kiki, heaved the luxe compound onto the market at the beginning of the year, for $60 million. Known as Tranquility, the 8.3-acre spread covers a total of almost 32,000 square feet, and extends from the ocean to the Intracoastal Waterway.
Four months later, they struck a deal, shaving a mere $5 million off their original asking price. Even after lavishing the sprawling grounds with an array of improvements, they almost certainly walked away with a profit.
The impressive Hobe Sound expanse had been completely rebuilt, and includes a main house, poolhouse, and beach house. The property incorporates 10 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, and six half-bathrooms. The waterfront grounds include 172 feet of ocean frontage and 370 feet of waterfront on the Intracoastal Waterway.
Jill Hertzberg of Coldwell Banker Realty’s The Jills Zeder Group and Michelle Thomson of Coldwell Banker Realty’s Thomson Team represented the Normans. Hertzberg also represented the buyer.
That megadeal closed on April 7.
The next day, the couple upped their real estate game, and landed a relatively petite property, a resortlike spread on 2 acres in Palm Beach Gardens with 11,837 square feet of interior space. On and off the market since 2018, with an asking price as high as $13.75 million, the property was last on the market for $11.9 million in 2020.
Located in the Old Palm Golf Club, the six-bedroom, nine-bathroom mansion features golf and lake views.
Inside, there are formal living and dining rooms, a gourmet kitchen, theater room, wood-paneled office and fireplace, and a game room, family room, and breakfast room.
The outdoor area boasts an oversized pool, a summer kitchen with a swim-up bar, cabanas and lounge areas, tennis court, and a private guesthouse.
The home is a “perfect combination of timeless formal and casual living,” the listing notes.
Rob Thomson with Waterfront Property and Club Communities repped the seller.
Norman, 66, now retired, spent 331 weeks as the world’s top-ranked golfer. Kiki Norman is the founder of the Norman Design Group.
