Zac Efron, one of the stars of “The Greatest Showman,” also has some skills in real estate. He just sold his posh Los Angeles pad for $5.3 million, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The owner of the Zen contemporary compound first placed his stylish digs on the market in December 2020 for $5.9 million. Earlier this year, he adjusted the price downward, to $5,575,000. Two months later, the place sold at the slightly lower price of $5.3 million.
Even after those price slices, the actor came out ahead. In 2013, he picked up the upscale abode, located in the Oaks area of Los Feliz, for just under $4 million.
Now, the California native seems to be spending time traveling the globe for his current Netflix show, “Down to Earth With Zac,” and has put down roots in Australia, reportedly buying property Down Under.
The home he sold in the celebrity enclave offers privacy and expansive views of downtown to the ocean from every room in the house. There’s a long, gated driveway that leads to the entrance, with a covered stone pathway and glass door.
Built in 1964 and billed as “a perfect celebrity haven,” the 5,644-square-foot layout offers five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms. Inside, there’s a wide-open floor plan, plus a breezy indoor-outdoor flow that connects to decks that run the length of the home.
Details include a living room with a fireplace, walls of glass, and a dining area that overlooks the deck and city views. The chef’s kitchen features walls of storage, a center island, and a breakfast bar with seating.
Elements of the party pad include expansive outdoor space for dinners or cocktails on the deck. The grounds include a newly redone pool, with a spa and waterfall that take advantage of the privacy and views.
The home offers a master suite on the main level, with dark-toned walls, a fireplace, and a balcony. Along with three more bedrooms with bathrooms downstairs, the property comes with a separate one-bedroom, one-bathroom guesthouse.
Floating stairs lead to a game room with a billiard-table and a shuffleboard. The space also includes a lounge area, as well as an office, a gym, and wine cellar. Security cameras and a carport complete the spread.
Now 33, Efron rose to fame with a starring role in the “High School Musical” trilogy in the early 2000s. He has since starred in movies including “New Year’s Eve,” “Neighbors,” “Dirty Grandpa,” and “17 Again.” He more recently played the serial killer Ted Bundy in the film “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.”
Kathrin Nicholson with The Agency repped the seller. John Fanelly with Del Rey Urban Brokerage represented the buyer.
