Boston Celtics point guard Kemba Walker is building a future in Massachusetts.
The three-time NBA All-Star purchased a $11,275,000 plot of land as well as the plans to build a custom dream home in Brookline—a fancy, celebrity-studded suburb of Boston.
The deal was finalized in late October, and the home’s current plans include six bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms in nearly 10,000 square feet of living space. However, the 1.5-acre lot could accommodate a much larger footprint should Walker decide he desires something even bigger.
The renderings of the proposed structure suggest a stately residence with columns and casings carved from limestone and 10-foot front doors made of iron.
Highlights include large windows, a grand foyer with double bridal staircase, large kitchen, au pair suite, and paneled library. Of course, the plans leave room for Walker to further customize the estate to his tastes and lifestyle—which is what you’d expect for the Celtics floor general.
Here’s a rendering of the home done by the builder:
The sizable purchase comes after Walker signed a four-year, $141 million contract with the Celtics this summer, after eight seasons in Charlotte, NC.
Walker’s strong play has him in the running as the Celtics’ most valuable player so far this season. He is reportedly a positive influence on the team on the court and in the locker room, suggesting the matchup may last longer than the four years Walker and the Celtics agreed to.
His building this luxurious dream home does seem to indicate Walker is planning to stick around. He’s picked a great neighborhood and he’s in illustrious company—New England football legend Tom Brady lives just a couple of miles away from where Walker’s baller mansion will be built.
