After four years and multiple price cuts, the Los Angeles home of Jim Belushi, the actor turned cannabis farmer, has sold for $30 million, the website Dirt reported.
The star of “According to Jim,” who has since decamped to an Oregon farm, had first publicly placed the Mediterranean mansion on the market in 2017, for the high-flying amount of $38.5 million.
Oscillating price tag
The price dropped precipitously to $29.9 million in 2018. The following year, Belushi made a big push to sell and cut the home’s price to $27.9 million.
Later in the year, the asking price sprang back up to $38 million, only to come down a little in 2020 to $36.5 million.
The property had last been listed this spring for $33.5 million, which appears to have been in the right neighborhood for a buyer, who snagged the place at the even lower amount.
Despite the price gyrations, the comedian came out ahead. He purchased the property, on a triple lot, for $8.3 million in 2007.
Bespoke build
After he scored the land, Belushi proceeded to build the custom home, working with the architect Oscar Shamamian and the interior designer Michael Smith on the upscale abode.
Completed in 2010, the “world-class” design in prime Brentwood Park is a picturesque place that comes with seven bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a guesthouse, pool, and poolhouse.

Guests can hang out in the basement recreation area, which comes with a media room, pool table, wine cellar, bar, sauna, and a gym.
Upstairs, the master suite boasts a fireplace, private balcony, as well as stairs leading to an outdoor spa and a cold plunge.
Ornate architectural details throughout the home include intricate ceiling designs, tiled floors, and imported, hand-carved stone fireplaces.
Set on 1.31 acres, the grassy grounds surround a pool and Jacuzzi. The outdoor dining area is set under a trellised patio.
Belushi, 67, starred in the sitcom “According to Jim,” from 2001 to 2009. He also appeared in movies such as “Trading Places” and “About Last Night.”
More recently, he’s been playing the real-life role of farmer. A profile in Men’s Health magazine details his foray into growing weed at his Eagle Point, OR, farm.
A tweet he posted showing a photo of one of his plants is captioned, “Another great week for farming.”

Along with his Oregon property, he also owns a smaller Brentwood home he purchased in the late 1980s. According to Variety, he also reportedly holds the Martha’s Vineyard estate that once belonged to his brother, the late John Belushi.
Kurt Rappaport with Westside Estate Agency represented Belushi. Daniel Dill represented the buyer.
